I had never read This author before. From USA Today bestselling author Nick Thacker, The Atlantis Stone is a perfect read for the armchair traveler. This book left me full of angst and then some. Readers learn that not everything was as it seemed, but that each individual became a victim to the event and its aftermath. Martin's work brings to light Marquez's real life experiences and his relationships with his contempories, making this book also a valuable contribution to our understanding of social and cultural history. And death, no stranger, will always shadow this most singular family: Father, arisen from the Earth; Mother, who never sleeps but dreams; A Thousand Times Great Grandmére; Grandfather, who keeps the wildness of youth between his ears. Yes it was full of angst, but the circumstances that the two main female characters found them selves in, would have been very confusing at best and devastating at worst.
